Amina Hanem Boutique Apartments offers luxury and style in the heart of the historical city of Kavala. Located in Old Town Panagia next to the historical monument Imaret and a few steps from the Mohammed Ali’s Residence.

Our private apartments are arranged on the first, second and third floors. On the first floor, there is also a charming yard available for the use of guests, from where you can enjoy the view.

On the ground floor, there is a comfortable lounge where you can sit and drink coffee or tea or just read.

Our staff offers an attentive high-quality service and is always ready to offer any help to guests. There is an amazing fusion of calm and tranquility at our apartments with hectic outside.

Location

Our rooms are located in the area of Panagia, with unrestricted views, very close to the city center of Kavala, also known as the “Monte Carlo” of Greece. Its enchanting location, overlooking the city and the port, guarantee a unique vacation. 

Just a few steps from our appartments you can find the historical monument Imaret. A little bit upper there is the Mohammed Ali’s Residence next to the church of Panagia. 

It takes only 2 to 3 minutes by car or on foot to reach the heart and center of Kavala, where guests can enjoy coffee, take a walk on the beautiful beach or have a meal at one of the seaside restaurants .

A trademark of the city is the Castle that dominates the top of the peninsula of Panagia and the arches.

At 15km is the archeological site of Philippi (birthplace of Alexander the Great) and a little further is the baptistery of Lydia, while on the left at a distance of 3km you find the thermal mud baths.

At about 50km you can visit the river Nestos.

At about 80km you can visit the ski center of Falakro of Drama.

History of amina hanem

Amina Hanem was born in 1770 at Nusratli, Rumeli Eyalet. She was the daughter of Nusretli Ali Agha, the governor of Kavala, and relative of the Chorbashi.
Amina Hanem married Muhammad Ali of Egypt in 1787, long before he became the Viceroy of Egypt, and rising to the rank of Pasha.

Amina Hanem died in 1824, and was buried at Hosh al-Basha, the mausoleum of Imam-i Shafi’i in Cairo. Our boutique apartments was inspired by her, her life and the whole arabic culture, to travel our guests in another culture and time.
