The Story Behind Amina Hanem
More than a boutique stay, Amina Hanem Boutique Apartments is a tribute to a remarkable woman whose life connected Kavala with the rich heritage of the East.
Born in 1770 in the region of Kavala, Amina Hanem was the daughter of Ali Agha, the governor of Kavala. In 1787, she married Muhammad Ali Pasha, the founder of modern Egypt, years before he became Viceroy of Egypt. Her life symbolized the cultural bridge between Greece and Egypt, two worlds connected through history, architecture, and tradition.
Inspired by her legacy, our boutique apartments blend the elegance of Ottoman and Arabic design with the timeless charm of Kavala’s Old Town. Warm colors, handcrafted details, and carefully selected décor create an atmosphere that transports guests to another era while providing all the comforts of modern luxury.
Located just steps from the historic Imaret and the House of Muhammad Ali, Amina Hanem Boutique Apartments invites you to experience not only the beauty of Kavala but also the fascinating story that shaped the inspiration behind every suite.
